On 17th of May 2017 the specialists of Užupis Creative Clusters participated in the event InnoSummit 2017: Strategies to Reinforce Private Investments And Collaboration, which was organized by the Lithuanian Innovation Center (LIC) together with a group of partners.
Innovation Summit 2017 – a platform for artists from private and public sector designed to exchange ideas in order to encourage business and science cooperation also creating a strategy to attract private investments to R&D and innovation activities.
Invited guest from different European countries delivered reports during the event, they shared their attitudes towards attracting investments to R&D and innovations. Among the rapporteurs – representatives of the strongest Lithuanian companies carrying out R&D and innovation activities as well as experts and high ranking representatives of the Government.
When participating in the innovation forum InnoSummit 2017 held in Vilnius, the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania Vilius Šapoka reported that a business of a country must introduce innovations in order to compete successfully in fast-moving global markets - for that it is vitally necessary to exploit European Union (EU) investments by directing them into research, experimental development.
The Minister of Education and Science Jurgita Petrauskienė, the Vice-Minister of Economy Lina Sabaitienė, a representative of European Commission Kęstutis Sadauskas, a parliament member Tadas Langaitis and a group of influential investors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, founders and executives of clusters also participated in the event.
After the reports, Innovation Summit 2017 experts organized three panel discussions: Next Step towards Attraction of Private Investments to R&D and Innovations, Next Step towards Digital Innovation Centers and Next Step towards Circular Economy.
