UCC specialists participated in MITA training Pre-commercial and Innovative Public Procurements

On 16th of March specialists of Užupis Creative Cluster participated in the training Pre-commercial and Innovative Public Procurements organized by Science, Innovations and Technology Agency (MITA) in the Ministry of Economy, the aim of which - to strengthen skills and competences of contracting authorities in the field of pre-commercial and innovative public procurements.

Pre-commercial procurements – a state’s orders to carry out research and experimental development activity. While applying this procurement mean, issues relevant to the society in various areas such as health protection, waste management, energy consumption, safe traffic, national defense and others are solved.

The concept of pre-commercial procurements and examples, steps of pre-commercial procurements’ organization and peculiarities, characteristics of implementation of these procurements as well as the concept of innovative public procurements and their relation with pre-commercial procurements, steps of innovative public procurements’ organization and peculiarities, and other topics were discussed during the training. During the event, representatives of the Ministry of Economy presented a tool Ikiprekybiniai pirkimai LT, and the experts shared insights how to prepare a high-quality application when having a good idea.

We believe that pre-commercial and innovative public procurements will open even more possibilities for both Lithuanian governmental institutions and educational institutions, and business organizations. Užupis Creative Cluster intends to participate actively in these projects.
